Trade in Camera Dubai: The Xposure Festival Safe Upgrade Guide | Camcity
Saw it at Xposure? How to Trade in Camera Dubai Safely & Upgrade to Brand New
If you are like me, you spent the weekend at the Xposure International Photography Festival in Sharjah. You stood in front of those massive gallery prints. You played with the new 600mm lenses at the brand booths. You felt the magic.
Then you drove back to Dubai, looked at your trusty old DSLR, and felt… a little sad.
We call this the “Xposure Hangover.” You want to upgrade now. You want that pristine, zero-scratch, fresh-smelling gear you saw at the show. But dropping 20,000 AED on a brand new body isn’t in the budget.
So, you do what every photographer in UAE does: You open the classifieds.
Stop right there. The week after Xposure is the #1 time photographers make bad decisions. You think buying “Used” from a stranger is the only way to save money. It isn’t.
Here is why buying used from the classifieds is a gamble—and how you can own Brand New gear for a fraction of the price by trading in.
The “Classifieds Roulette” (Why Cheap is Expensive)
Trade in Camera Dubai
Yesterday, a customer—let’s call him Omar—walked into our shop at Al Khaleej Centre. He was looking for a charger for a Nikon Z7 II he bought “cheap” from a random seller online.
He thought he saved 1,500 AED compared to a new unit.
But when we looked at the sensor? Laser damage. The previous owner had shot a concert, and a laser show had burned tiny, invisible lines across the sensor. Omar didn’t save 1,500 AED. He bought a paperweight.
When you buy used from a stranger, you inherit their accidents. You get their shutter wear, their sand damage, and their dropped sensors.
Why take that risk when you can get Brand New?
The Camcity Promise: Sealed Box, Zero Worries
Trade in Camera Dubai
At Camcity, we believe you shouldn’t have to gamble to get great gear. We have worked hard to bring our Brand New prices down to a level where buying “Used” just doesn’t make sense anymore.
When you buy from us at Al Khaleej Centre, you get:
- The “Fresh Box” Feeling: You are the first person to touch it. Zero shutter count. Zero scratches. Zero fungus.
- 1-Year Warranty: If the screen flickers or the autofocus dies, you come to us. We fix it or replace it. No ghosting.
- The “Penguin” Seal: Our team (and our Penguin mascot) ensures every unit is 100% genuine. No grey-market refurbs disguised as new.
3 “Festival-Grade” Upgrades (Why Risk Used?)
Trade in Camera Dubai
You saw these cameras in the hands of the pros at Xposure. Don’t settle for a hand-me-down. Own the real thing.
1. The Wildlife Beast: Sony A7 IV (Brand New)
- The “Used” Risk: You might find a cheap one, but does it have 150,000 hidden shutter clicks? Is the stabilization motor worn out?
- The Camcity Deal: Brand New. Sealed. You get the full lifespan of the camera, starting from click #1. And the price? It’s closer to the used market than you think.
Sony A7 V Dubai | Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera [كاميرا بدون مرايا كاملة الإطار]
The Sony A7 V price Dubai is AED 8,799 at CamCity — making it the most capable mainstream full-frame Sony ever sold in the UAE, with a partially stacked Exmor RS sensor [مستشعر مكدس جزئياً], uncropped 4K 60p, and 30fps blackout-free burst on a par with Sony’s flagship A1 II. Grey market A7 V units have appeared in Dubai at AED 8,100 and below from unauthorised sellers, but without Sony UAE service centre access, local warranty support, or firmware update eligibility — a risk not worth taking on a body at this price. At CamCity, every Sony A7 V carries a genuine Sony UAE warranty with full 1-to-1 exchange support — visit our Al Khaleej Centre showroom or chat on WhatsApp for instant stock confirmation.
2. The Storyteller: Canon EOS R6 Mark II (Brand New)
- The “Used” Risk: This is a high-speed sports camera. Used units have often been hammered by pros. Don’t buy someone else’s abuse.
- The Camcity Deal: Brand New. Crisp buttons. Perfect sensor. Ready to shoot your masterpiece.
Canon EOS R6 Mark II Body Dubai | Full-Frame Hybrid Camera [كاميرا هجينة]
The Canon EOS R6 Mark II Body Dubai at CamCity gives UAE wedding photographers, corporate videographers, and hybrid creators a full-frame body [هيكل كاميرا بإطار كامل] that shoots 40fps silently, records uncropped 4K 60p 10-bit internally, and delivers 8-stop combined IBIS — all at AED 6,899, significantly below authorised UAE retailers who price the same body upwards of AED 8,851. Grey market R6 Mark II units entering the UAE from unauthorised channels carry no warranty support; every Canon EOS R6 Mark II Body Dubai at CamCity comes with a Official Canon warranty and our 1-to-1 exchange policy. Visit our Al Khaleej Centre showroom to hold it before buying, or chat on WhatsApp for instant stock confirmation and pricing.
3. The Street Soul: Nikon Zf (Brand New)
The “Used” Risk: These are rare on the used market. If you see a “bargain” listing from a stranger, it’s often a scam.
The Camcity Deal: We have the classic black edition in stock. Sealed Box. Real stock, right here in Bur Dubai.
Frequently Asked Questions About Trading In
Is your gear compatible with UAE service centers?
A: We sell genuine, brand-new products. All our cameras come with a store warranty that covers you for 1 full year. If you have an issue, you bring it to us directly in Bur Dubai, and we handle the rest.
Do you offer installment plans?
A: We are working on it! For now, we accept Cash and Card. The best part? Our cash prices are often lower than the “big mall” stores, saving you money instantly without needing a loan.
Can I check the camera before I buy?
A: You can’t open a sealed box before paying (to keep it fresh for you!), but we have demo units and open pieces in the shop. You can feel the grip, test the autofocus, and ask our experts any question before you commit.
Where exactly are you located?
A: We are in the heart of the camera world: Al Khaleej Centre, Bur Dubai. We are the shop with the “Pro Mood” and the cool vibes. Come have a coffee with us!

"Spectacular service and top notch staff! Fairly priced too! I serviced my Fujifilm camera here and they did an amazing job. Totally recommend visiting this shop. Public paid Parking was available too."
New"I recently took my Canon EOS 650D to Cam to fix a problem. Drooped it off. 2 hrs later the technician calls and says: All fixed. Dust on the turn-on switch. Minimal charge. I cannt recommend Cam City enough. Highly professional. Fast. Cost effective. As they say on their web-site. If you take the camera to the retail store, they will simply send it to a 3rd party technician. Always better to go to the source and deal with the guys who do the fixing. 5 stars."
